Telecommunications Advisory Committee
![]()
The Cable Television Advisory Committee is a citizens' group that was formed in December 1999. The purpose of the Committee is to examine how the Township can best benefit from the cable television franchise agreement, the implementation of the franchise amendment of September 2001, and any future cable agreements. The group strives to help the Township assess community needs amid changing telecommunications technologies.
The Committee's primary concern is Public, Educational, and Government Access. Committee members have also served and continue to serve on various area cable committees, such as the Joint Cable / Telecommunications Advisory Board for Bucks County. With the help of neighboring committee members the Board keeps abreast of changes in federal, state and local laws that may affect the role of telecommunications in our area. Additionally, they monitor cable charges to assure that the rates are fair and reasonable under the law.
The current members of the Committee, members since its inception, have an extensive background in the Telecommunications industry as follows:
James Bunn - Serves as a representative of the Central Bucks School District. He is an independent video producer with 20 years' experience in cable television programming and production and manager of a local origination/public access facility for 16 years.
Buckingham Township is currently seeking applications from residents to fill the vacancies for this important committee. If interested, please send a brief letter to the Township office describing your interest, and include your resume (if applicable.)
