CANS - Community Alert Network System

Buckingham Township participates in the Community Alert Network System (CANS).  This system permits direct emergency notification to our residents through the telephone.  In the event of a disaster or other serious incident, Township officials can record instructions which are then disseminated to the community by way of phone.  CANS makes over 10,000 calls per hour with a one minute message.  The system accesses all listed phone numbers within the Township but does not have access to unlisted numbers.
