for Permits
Commonly requested applications for permits are available here for your convenience. These applications may be completed on the screen, or printed and then completed. In either case, the forms, along with the additional required documents must be hand delivered to the Building Department located in the Township Building for submittal (on- line submission is not available due to the additional materials required.) The fee structure is also shown for your information. In some cases, additional building information is available at the Township office. All construction work must comply with 2006 International Codes and the Pennsylvania UCC, as amended. Also, must comply with Buckingham Township's Codes as specified in Ordinance# 2003-04
Please note, these are applications for residential homeowner's projects. For new home or building construction or other permits not listed here, please call the Township office. If you are unsure whether a permit is required - call our office!

County Consumer Protection Guidelines for Home Improvements
$85.00 plus $9.00 per $1,000.00 estimated structural cost, plus $7.00 UCC educational surcharge (plumbing is $30.00 for the first fixture plus $11.00 per fixture thereafter) additional $75.00 zoning fee when changing the footprint of the structure.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
The building permit fee for an in ground pool is $307.00 ($225.00 for permit fee, $75.00 zoning fee plus $7.00 UCC) and $750.00 escrow for fencing.
The building permit fee for an above ground pool/spa is $192.00 ($110.00 for permit fee, $75.00 Zoning fee and $7.00 UCC educational surcharge) and $500.00 escrow for fencing/safety.
Deck and Open Porches/Patios (uncovered)
The cost of the deck permit is $207.00 ($125.00 for permit fee, plus $7.00 UCC educational surcharge and $75.00 zoning fee).
Sheds - includes attached or independent accessory buildings, garages, patio and utility sheds not otherwise exempt by the currently adopted building code.
If the shed is 500 sq. ft. or less in size, a Zoning Permit is required at the cost of $40.00 for a residential property.
If the size exceeds 500 sq. ft., a Building and a Zoning Permit are required. The cost of the building permit is calculated according to the square footage of the project. ($75.00 plus $0.30 per sq. ft. for permit fee, plus $7.00 UCC educational surcharge and $75.00 Zoning fee)
General
Property Fencing Requirements:
1. Maximum height for fencing is 6 feet.
2. Fence can go on property lines with the following exceptions:
If property is a corner lot, fence may not obstruct the clear site triangle
If there are wetlands, easements, deed restricted open space or any other dead restrictions, fencing can go up to but not encroach into these areas.
3. Fencing for pools & spas must adhere to the 2006 IRC requirements in addition to the required permit and inspections. **See Swimming Pool and Spa Permit Application
