Board of Supervisors Work Session
Wednesday, July 14 2010
Minutes
The work session of the Buckingham Township Board of Supervisors was held July 14, 2010 in the Township Building, 4613 Hughesian Drive, Buckingham, Pennsylvania.
Present:
Jon Forest Chairman
Maggie Rash Vice-Chairman
Henry Rowan Member
Dana Cozza Township Manager
Craig A. Smith, Esquire Township Solicitor
Dan Gray Township Engineer
Tom Kelso Township Water/Wastewater Consultant
The meeting was called to order at 7:15pm.
1. Update on Water Systems
Mr. Kelso and Ms. Cozza presented information about the water resources program and provided an update to the Board of Supervisors about the recent drought warning and steps they had taken to address the issue. Ms. Cozza explained that the presentation was made in power point and general information was included for the benefit of any residents that might attend the meeting with questions on the water system and the voluntary water restrictions.
The meeting adjourned at 7:35pm for the regular business meeting.
The meeting reconvened at 10:12pm.
2. Prescription Drug Takeback program
Ms. Cozza reported that the Police Chief had provided her with information about a prescription drug takeback program and asked the Board if they would like the Township to get involved. She noted that the national campaign was looking for drop-off sites and that a police officer would be required to man the site. Mr. Forest asked if there was a charge for disposal. Ms. Cozza responded that the obvious cost would be the police pay. Mr. Rowan felt such a program should be administered on a regional basis. Board consensus was for Ms. Cozza to look further into the program.
The Work Session was adjourned at 10:22 p.m.
Approved by the Board of Supervisors on the 27th day of July, 2010.
