Job Description -
Buckingham Township. P/T Accounts Payable Clerk for the Finance Department.  Position is 20-25 hours per week. Requires a thorough knowledge of computer applications and software skills as well as work experience in a paperless environment, possess an attention to detail, able to work with minimal supervision, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, and residents.  Job functions include review/audit invoices, match to purchase orders/quotes, code and enter invoices into software; process check payments, credit card payments and billing for building projects, perform miscellaneous clerical duties and the ability to maintain strong work ethics when dealing with sensitive financial information.  The candidate must demonstrate extensive knowledge of the English language and arithmetic. WASTEWATER OPERATOR IN TRAINING (posted 11/2/2023)

Job Description

Under the general direction of the Wastewater Superintendent, this individual is responsible for performing wastewater inflow, treatment and effluent processing, and laboratory sampling operations work while learning to apply process control techniques to wastewater resource recovery treatment in conformance with industry techniques, regulatory methods, and Township guidelines, policies, and procedures.

This individual shall perform any combination of the tasks deemed necessary by the Wastewater Superintendent. Management has the option to call in one or all plant personnel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This position is an entry-level position.

General Requirements:

  1. Ability to learn processes and equipment involved in wastewater treatment.
  2. Possess basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment involved in wastewater treatment.
  3. Ability to document records.
  4. Capable of assisting operations personnel in daily activities at the wastewater treatment plant.
  5. Must be capable of understanding schematics and blueprints.
  6. Physical Requirements- must be able to lift 75 pounds, climb up and down ladders and lift manhole covers.
  7. Must possess effective communication skills.

Specific Vocational Preparation:

  1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must possess a valid PA driver’s license.
  3. Must successfully complete “Operation and Maintenance of Wastewater Collections Systems” both Volumes I & II and/or “Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants” Volumes I & II within 18 months of hired date.
  4. Must obtain a valid PADEP Wastewater Certification Class C, E, subclass 1,3,4 within 3 years of hired date.
  5. This position requires continuous education in the maintenance field, operations of wastewater treatment plant and collection system.
  6. Must have basic computer knowledge.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  2. Must be responsive to call outs and/or operational emergencies.

 Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  1. Exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat, and cold including rain, ice, fog, wind, and various terrains.
  2. Exposed to confined spaces; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
  3. Risk of electrical shock or mechanical hazards.
  4. Risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  5. Exposed to power and noise producing tools and equipment. The noise level in the work environment (wastewater treatment plant facilities, pump stations, field, and maintenance shop) varies from moderate to loud.
  6. Occasional work in office buildings with controlled lighting and ventilation and moderate noise levels.
