Environmental Advisory Commission
In December 1989, the Buckingham Township Board of Supervisors established an Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) for Buckingham Township.

Pennsylvania General Assembly Act 148 gives municipalities the authority to establish environmental advisory councils. Councils can advise a municipality's governing body on matters concerning the protection, conservation, management, and use of the municipality's natural resources.

The Mission of the Environmental Advisory Council
The Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) shall advise the Buckingham Township Board of Supervisors on matters concerning the protection, conservation, management, and use of the municipality's natural resources. The EAC will provide leadership and direction in developing and achieving environmental goals to protect, sustain and restore the environment within Buckingham Township consistent with the values and priorities of the residents
