New Wildlife Crossing Signs on Upper Mountain Road

Buckingham Township residents traveling along Upper Mountain Road near Buckingham Mountain Preserve may notice new wildlife crossing signs installed in partnership with Heritage Conservancy.

The solar-powered signs are designed to flash on select evenings during the spring and fall amphibian migration seasons, when frogs, salamanders, and other wildlife are most likely to be crossing the roadway. During these rainy migration nights, volunteers may also be along the roadway helping amphibians cross safely. Drivers are asked to slow down, stay alert, and watch for both wildlife and volunteers whenever the signs are flashing.
